50% faster than competing service provider

2025 marked Workover Solutions (WOS) expanding our footprint into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This strategic move marks an important milestone in our growth and reflects our commitment to supporting operators in one of the world’s most dynamic energy markets. By bringing our proven downhole technology, real-time monitoring solutions, and performance-driven tools to KSA, WOS aims to deliver measurable value through:

  • Enhanced drilling and completion efficiency
  • Reduced non-productive time (NPT)
  • Data-driven operational insights
  • Reliable, field-tested technology tailored for the region

Our mission is simple: to partner with operators across Saudi Arabia to improve well performance, increase efficiency, and drive long-term success.

We recently demonstrated immediate value by completing a stickpipe drillout more than 50% faster than our competing service provider. Here are the specifics.

Task: Stickpipe Drillout Operation

Notes: Identical operational conditions and a direct performance comparison.

Competitor: 22 days to complete

WOS: 10 days to complete

WOS used a Hydraulic Workover Unit (Snubbing) on a high-pressure, sour gas well, containing hydrogen sulfide (H2s) and carbon dioxide (CO2).

The superior performance of our tools and the experience of our team allowed this undertaking to be accomplished in only our second stickpipe drillout operation.

Why do you need to perform a stickpipe drillout?

After a hydraulic fracturing job is completed, there is often debris left in the wellbore. To mill and remove that debris, a stickpipe drillout is vital. This process allows for pieces of rock, sand or frac plugs to be removed. Cleanup of the well ensures it’s ready for the next step in production.

The well type in this case was a horizontal multi-stage completion with composite frac plugs. The depths and trajectory of the WOS well and the competitor’s well were comparable. The hole conditions presented with identical formations, pressure and sour gas presence. Sour gas is more corrosive and tends to be tougher on tools.

WOS offered a zero-NPT (Non-Productive Time) one-run drillout operation by leveraging advanced tooling, proprietary engineering and skillful personnel.

How does WOS ensure mechanical integrity and chemical resistance in a stickpipe drillout operation?

WOS provided a Complete Bottom-Hole Assembly (BHA) engineered and fabricated in house using Inconel – a high-strength nickel-chromium-based superalloy. This material allows for resistance to high temperatures, corrosion and oxidation, making it ideal for H2s and CO2 environments. By manufacturing in house, WOS can control the quality and ensure the metal spec is exactly as advertised. All metal is sourced from the United States and manufactured in our Imperial, PA facility.

How does WOS ensure stable torque, reduced vibration and a high rate of penetration (ROP)?

WOS uses the PioneeR ™ 7-11 PDC bit (7 bladed, 11mm cuters), specifically designed for high efficiency frac plug millouts. The bit delivers exceptional performance in sour service and offers a cutter layout and optimized hydraulic design. The average wash times per plug were 78.62, 89.56, and 97.23.

How does WOS sustain continual operations?

WOS field engineers are experts with a proven track record in complex well intervention and drillout operations on a snubbing unit. The team’s operational discipline and proactive coordination are pivotal elements in sustaining continual operations with zero downtime attributable to tools, personnel or planning. The average WOS tool hand has over 14 years of experience running tools. The CEO and COO of WOS have a combined 33 years in the oilfield, and have developed numerous patents for oilfield tools.

Using advanced metallurgy, proprietary tooling and a team of proficient experts, WOS delivers safe, efficient and cost- effective operations. We have proven our capability to execute critical drillouts in harsh well environments without compromise. WOS tools are manufactured, built and tested in the USA.
